Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted near Queen’s Park, Swindon.
Around 12.15am on Wednesday 24 May 2017 the victim, who’s in his 30’s, was sitting on the wall outside the park on Drove Road listening to music on his headphones with his rucksack next to him. A female approached and started to talk to him, as he got up he was struck to the face by a male. He fell to the floor and as he tried to get back up was punched by another male. His bag was then taken from the wall and the offenders walked off.
A few moments later, police were called to attend the ambulance station on nearby Queen’s Drive after a report that a man had turned up at that location reporting he had been robbed.
The victim suffered facial injuries including a fractured eye socket.
PC Matt Robinson said: “Unfortunately, our victim cannot recall the descriptions of his attackers nor the direction they walk off in but we’d like to speak to anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious in the area of Queen’s Park or the ambulance station in the early hours of Wednesday 24 May.”
