Teen drink driver destroys two vehicles in early morning getaway bid

A drink driver has collided with two vehicles and a wall in Chippenham this morning.

At just after 6am today, Sunday 24 July, a silver Ford Focus collided with a car on Parliament Street before driving through a wall and taking out the front of a white van.

The driver, a 19-year-old from the Chippenham area, was uninjured and was arrested for driving whilst above the legal alcohol limit after blowing 98 on a roadside breath test.

PC Andy Ross from Wiltshire Police said: “[The] driver has minor injuries, [it was] very lucky no one was around at the time.”
