Taxi driver’s phone stolen in Penhill early morning assault

Wiltshire Police are hunting for a man who stole a taxi driver’s mobile phone duringĀ an early morning assault in the Penhill area.

The incident happened on 1 December, at around 9.00am in Stockton Road.

An altercation took place between a man and woman, who were in another car, and the taxi driver. The taxi driver was then assaulted.

The suspect is described as a white male, around 6′ 2″ tall, of skinny build and in his late 20’s. He had short, light brown hair and was unshaven. He was wearing a dark blue tracksuit top with a white emblem on the left side of the chest.

There was a white female with this man. She had blonde hair which was tied up at the back of her head, light coloured eyes and was wearing a dark coloured coat with a white top underneath.

The suspects were in a blue VW Golf with a partial number plate of V6.

PC Matt Herbert said: “A dispute between the taxi driver and the couple took place in the road, in broad daylight, so someone should have seen something.
