Swindon’s martial arts star and entrepreneur Matt Fiddes has landed himself a second leading business magazine cover this year.
Business Leader magazine, which is read by thousands of successful business people across Bristol, Somerset, Bath, and surrounding areas, has featured the multi-millionaire on the front page of their July to September edition.
The Wiltshire-based and Swindon-born martial artist, with a global enterprise worth more than £30 million, is best known for his work as Micheal Jackson’s bodyguard.
Being bullied when he was younger, Fiddes created what is now the world’s largest martial arts franchise, with 650 Matt Fiddes Martial Arts schools around the world. His schools specialise in teaching children and adults life skills and anti-bully techniques.
Fiddes’ Swindon-located group of franchises is the biggest, with more than 2000 students. It’s owned and run by franchisee Pat O’Driscoll, and was recently valued by an independent accountant as being worth £7 million today.
It was bullying at school that motivated Matt to build the £30 million empire he has to date, which includes the martial arts chain, an impressive property portfolio providing housing for more than 85 people in Devon and dance schools.
Matt was a friend of late pop star Michael Jackson, which made him a highly sought after celebrity trainer. His clients include: Caprice, Chloe Goodman, Marnie Simpson, Roxanne Pallett, Francine Lewis, Danielle Lloyd, Jackson 5 and Peter Andre to name just a few.
