Stratton police spent this morning on Swindon Road and Highworth Road following reports early morning speeding in the area.
At the first location, Swindon Road, police issued ten fixed penalty notices at £100 each and in excess of ten people were verbally warned for driving in excess of the 30mph speed limit.
At the second location, Highworth Road, one fixed penalty notice was issued, at £100, and two people were verbally warned for driving in excess of the speed limit of 30mph.
A spokesperson said: “Due to the rules and policies in place we are limited as to what locations we can conduct such checks with enforcement but we try and get out as frequently as possible with our other demands on our time.
“We find that we receive a high number of complaints for speed related matters and we will try and address these when we can.
“We thank those who were driving safely, sensibly and within the law.”
