Roof removed to free injured woman driver following two-car smash

Fire crews worked to remove the roof of a Ford Focus after a two-car road traffic collision on the White Hart Roundabout yesterday evening.


The emergency services were called the the serious collision between a blue Ford Focus and a white Mercedes C250 at around 6pm, on 23 December.

The female driver, from Swindon, in the Ford Focus was complaining of back pain leading to paramedics and firefighters deciding to remove the roof to extract their casualty.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision at around 6pm yesterday, Wednesday 23 December, between a blue Ford Focus and a white Mercedes C250.

“The woman driver, who was driving the Ford Focus was complaining of back pain, and was helped to be removed by the fire service and ambulance crew on scene.

“Her injuries are believed to be non-life changing or threatening injuries.”
