Detectives have launched a manhunt to find a teenage girl after a 45-year-old man was stabbed in the chest multiple times today.
Armed police officers were called to the incident, in a flat in Dulverton Avenue, Park North, at around 9.30am this morning, Friday, 11 March.
A 45-year-old man received multiple stab wounds to his chest.
A 19-year-old woman, who is known to the victim, is currently on the run.
Wiltshire Police have maintained a high police presence in the area all day, and have had a number of officers conducting door-to-door enquiries.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “At approximately 9.30am this morning a local man aged 45 was assaulted.
“He sustained stab wounds to his chest and was taken to Great Western Hospital in Swindon for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
“The 19-year-old female suspect, who is believed to be known to the victim, left the scene after the attack. Officers are currently in the process of locating her. A firearms unit was also deployed as is standard procedure in cases like this.
“Residents may notice police activity as officers carry out their enquiries. Local officers will also be carrying out increased patrols in the area.
