Man tries to tempt girls into car with ice lollies in Morrisons’ car park

Wiltshire Police are investigating an incident whereby two young girls were approached by a man in car who offered them ice lollies.

The worrying incident happened in the Morrisons car park in Eldene yesterday afternoon, Tuesday 12 July, at around 4pm.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We received a call yesterday from a woman reporting that her daughter had been approached by a man in Morrisons car park, Eldene, between 4pm and 4.20pm that afternoon.

“The girl, aged 12, was with a friend near the clothes bank, when a man is reported to have driven up to them and offered them an ice lolly. The man became persistent despite the girls telling him they did not want anything.

“When they told the man they would call the police, he drove off quickly. The man is described as white, approximately 35 to 40 years old.

“He was wearing a grey top and leather jacket and was driving a black saloon type vehicle. Anyone with information should call police on 101.”
