A man has suffered minor injuries after his car’s ‘accelerator got stuck’, forcing it to collide with the Civic Offices’ garden wall this afternoon.
The collision took place at 3.35pm this afternoon, Sunday 1 November.
The driver lost control of the vehicle on Wells Street, but luckily avoided a collision with any other road users or pedestrians while speedily crossing Euclid Street and hitting the wall.
A number of officers from Wiltshire Police, one crew from South Western Ambulance Service and one crew from Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service all attended the scene.

A family member of the car owner told Swindon 24 that the car’s ‘accelerator got stuck’.
Police have put the collision down to ‘mechanical failure’.
Although the driver of the car was being treated by paramedics on scene, it is not believed that he has suffered any serious injuries in the collision.
A recovery vehicle arrived to take the car away at around 4.05pm.
