Man, 37, found with serious head injuries near to Swindon town centre

A footpath near to Swindon town centre was taped off by Wiltshire Police for several hours yesterday, following a serious assault.

South Western Ambulance Service attended an emergency call from a member of the public, on Monday morning, who had discovered an injured man on the floor.

On arrival, the paramedics found a man, aged 37, with serious head injuries, behind Curtis Street, near to Cambria Place and Canal Walk.

A crime scene cordon was erected around the area for several hours.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We are investigating an incident where a 37-year-old man from Swindon was found with serious head injuries.

“He was found by an ambulance crew yesterday morning, 16 August, after receiving a call from a member of the public. The man has been taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.”
