Major blaze: Several hundred tons of wood on fire at Wroughton farm

Firefighters are tackling a major fire on a farm in Wroughton.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and rescue Service arrived at the scene, understood to be Common Farm on Wharf Road, at around 4.30pm this afternoon, 7 August.

A water appliance, alongside two fire engines – one from Swindon Community Fire Station and one from Westlea Community Fire Station – are currently on scene.

It is understood that several hundred tons of wood has gone up in flames.

Fire crews remain at the scene this evening (6.30pm).
