Driver charged after driving drunk on Thamesdown Drive

A local man has been charged with drink driving after he was witnessed hitting the kerb and the central reservation on Thamesdown Drive.

The 46-year-old was arrested following the incident. He was then taken back to Gablecross Police Station where he provided a reading of 148 micrograms in 100ml of breath – the legal limit is 35.

Police say that a driver ‘witnessed the him hit the kerb and the central reservation’before contacting them to report the incident.

“He has been charged with driving with excess alcohol,” Wiltshire Police commented. “[He] will appear before Swindon Magistrates Court on 25th November.
