Businesses provide Christmas Eve dinner for those in need

Christmas is a time for giving, and that’s just what three businesses did this Christmas Eve – they donated time, warmth and food to the homeless and hungry.

Three thoughtful Swindon-based businesses teamed up today, 24 December, to serve those in need a Christmas curry and hot drinks – crackers and all.

Dozens of homeless residents and refugees from The Harbour Project turned up, at The Core, to indulge in a selection of curries and hot drinks provided by Bengal Square and Spicy Aroma this afternoon.

Nikka Pomponi, Events and Fundraising Coordinator, at Threshold Housing Link said: “It’s been a fantastic afternoon – everyone is so grateful.

“I’m truly overwhelmed by the generosity of The Core, Bengal Square and Spicy Aroma.

“I also want to say a massive thank you to everyone that donated to our shoebox appeal. We gave out shoeboxes as presents today, and everyone was over the moon.

“Thank you to Jennifer Franklin who lead the shoebox appeal.”
