Avon and Somerset Constabulary have confirmed that they have found the body of missing Paul Griffiths from Clifton Street.
Posting on Facebook, the family wrote: “Yesterday the police found Dad, he had taken his life that day he walked from the Priory Hospital. We are so heartbroken as a family that for Dad the pain of living was greater than the fear of death. We will miss him dearly.
“Paul Griffiths; A talented, funny, caring Dad/Husband/ Brother/Friend with love all around him, a home and an amazing passion for music, is no longer with us.
“We are so grateful for all the messages and support. All that effort put into finding him when he was already at peace. We know people will be grieving with us so feel free to put any memories and comments on this page which will be changed to reflect the life of a great man. xxx”
Wiltshire Police said: “Avon and Somerset Constabulary have confirmed that a body has been found in the search for missing Paul Griffiths, from Clifton Street, Swindon.
“The body of a man was located yesterday (Wednesday 4 November) in Bristol during an organised search.
“Although formal identification has not yet been completed, we have updated Paul’s family of this development.
“Paul, 60, was reported missing on September 29.
“A large scale missing persons investigation was launched including search and rescue teams, underwater search teams and the Cadaver dogs from South Wales Police.
“Our thoughts are with Paul’s family.”
