Armed police officers, alongside dog handlers, were dispatched to a property in County Road yesterday evening.
The officers arrived at the property at around 8pm, last night, 8 December, after receiving reports of a person with a weapon attempting to break in.
An eyewitness, who wanted to remain anonymous, said that were around a dozen police officers armed with guns and five police vans in attendance.
A police spokesperson said: “Police received a call at 7.47 pm on 8 December, 2015, to reports of an attempted break-in at a property in County Road, Swindon. There was a concern that a weapon may have been involved.
“Officers responded and carried out a full search of the area, however nothing suspicious was discovered and no further action is needed from police.”
