The A419 is closed southbound due to a one-vehicle road traffic collision involving a Renault Trafic – two people are thought to be injured.

The collision, which has been fully blocked the southbound carriageway, happened near to the White Hart Roundabout at 3pm today, Friday, 26 February.

Delays have also been reported on the northbound carriageway due to ‘rubbernecking’.

It is also reported that drivers are turning their cars around, and driving back down the A419 in the wrong direction to exit as a previous slip-road.

South Western Ambulance Service confirmed that they treated two casualties for minor injuries, and say that only one vehicle, the overturned silver van, was involved.

The occupants of the van were not from the Swindon area, eye-witnesses say.

UPDATE: The road has fully reopened.
