Police in Swindon are appealing for witnesses to an attack on a teenage schoolboy which took place between 7pm and 7.30pm on Rodbourne Road, between the side entrance of the Designer Outlet Village and Redcliffe Street.

The 15 year old victim was walking past the entrance of the Outlet, in the direction of Redcliffe Street, when a group of youths shouted abuse at him.

The victim crossed the road, away from the group, but was pursued by members of the group; he was then knocked to the ground and assaulted.

PC Em Matthews said: “We want to hear from anyone who was in that area at that time. In particular we would like to speak to two women joggers who intervened.

“If that was you, please come forward to help us with our enquiries.

“You can call me on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
