Wiltshire Police is currently experiencing technical difficulties involving both their 999 and 101 call systems. The public are asked not to call 101.
NOTE: This issue has now been resolved.
As a result of the difficulties currently being experienced, all 999 emergency calls are being routed to Gloucestershire Police. However, all calls to 101 number are not being connected to the force’s call handlers.
Wiltshire Police are asking the public to only use the 999 number if your call is an emergency. For non-emergency calls, please do not call 101 as this service is temporarily out of use.
A spokesperson said: “BT are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible and further updates will be provided via the media when appropriate.
“In the meantime we are are urging residents to stay safe and to check on elderly and other vulnerable residents within their communities.
“We would like to thank the public for their patience.”
