A popular careers event will aim to create several matches made in heaven this Valentine’s Day.

Swindon JobFest will return to the STEAM Museum on today (14 February) from 2.30pm until 6pm, and will engage employers from across Swindon who are offering apprenticeships and employment opportunities in the local area.

Now in its fifth year, JobFest, organised by Swindon Borough Council, has fast become an important platform for Swindon employers to reach out to local young people looking for their perfect match.

Over 50 businesses, including Nationwide, Aldi, the National Trust, and emergency services, will be attending JobFest as well as national and local apprenticeship training providers.

Students from secondary schools have been invited to the event earlier in the afternoon while members of the public are welcome to book a place to go along from 2.30pm.

Councillor Oliver Donachie, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Economic Prosperity, said: “JobFest is a great chance for jobseekers to speak to employers face-to-face about the employment, training and apprenticeship opportunities they have available.

“I’d encourage anyone looking for more information about opportunities in the local area, whether that’s college students interested in the possibilities for when they leave education or people looking for other employment options, to go along and see what’s on offer in Swindon.”
