Wyvern Theatre has announced that the star of this year’s pantomime comes from none other than ITV’s Coronation Street.
Corrie’s Ryan Thomas will star as Prince Charming in this year’s pantomime, Cinderella, from Saturday, 10 December to Sunday, 8 January. He will be working alongside panto favourites David Ashley and Louie Westwood as the Ugly Sisters and Victoria Farley as Cinderella.
“I’m really excited to be making my stage debut in panto,” Ryan said. I’ve seen so many former Corrie stars perform in pantomime over the years so to finally get the chance I’m absolutely thrilled, especially as my daughter will be able to see me perform live on stage.”
Salford-born Ryan burst onto television screens on Christmas Day in 2000 in the role of Jason Grimshaw in the iconic ITV soap Coronation Street, a role he has played for over 16 years to great acclaim.
Theatre Director, Derek Aldridge said: “I am delighted to welcome Ryan to Swindon where he’ll meet the best panto audiences in the country. Cinderella promises to be a magical production for all the family and, with 10,000 tickets already sold, looks set to be our busiest Christmas ever!”
