This December, ‘Santa Claus and the Night Before Christmas’ comes to the Arts Centre and the cast are helping to bring joy to some of Swindon’s most deserving children.
The Wyvern Theatre and Arts Centre have teamed up with Brimble Hill School to launch a special Christmas present drive. They are calling for donations of chocolate selection boxes which will be presented to the boys and girls at Brimble Hill by Santa and his Elves when they make a special appearance on Thursday, 15 December.
Brimble Hill School is a primary special school for children with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties. They are located in the north of Swindon in a semi-rural location on a campus with 3 other schools.
The school is committed to celebrating the success its children achieve by setting challenging learning goals that are relevant and prepare them to take an active part in the wider community.
With many of their pupils having complex needs, the staff work hard to ensure students leaving Brimble Hill School are well prepared for the next phase of their life. Their simple ethos is ‘helping each child along the Stepping Stones of their own unique journey towards a brighter future’.
Marketing Manager at Swindon Theatres, Laura James said this of the campaign: “We wanted to engage with some deserving local children who would benefit from a special treat in the run up to Christmas. We did a similar visit last year and the children loved it.”
“Brimble Hill are a fantastic school who work with some wonderful children, so it will be an honour to visit them with Santa. It would be amazing if local people and businesses were able to make a donation.”
Selection boxes can be dropped off at the Wyvern Theatre Ticket Office or the Arts Centre reception at any time until Wednesday, 14 December.
