Prospect and Breast Cancer NOW are looking for volunteers this month

Prospect Hospice

Prospect Hospice supports a community of 300,000 people in Swindon, Marlborough and north Wiltshire, and the villages of Lechlade and Fairford in Gloucestershire. In 2014-15 Prospect Hospice cared for and supported more than 6,400 people, as patients, carers and family members, through a range of services developed to bring care, comfort and confidence at life’s most difficult time.

For patients, there are teams of nurses, doctors and therapists, bringing care at the hospice in Wroughton, in their own homes and care homes and through a palliative care team based at the Great Western Hospital. Carers and family members also access services designed to help their coping when a loved one has accessed our care.

Prospect Hospice are looking for volunteers for a bucket collection on Royal Wootton Bassett High Street. As much or as little time you can give from midday would be much appreciated.

When: Sat 25th March -12pm onwards
Role: Street collection
Where: High Street, Royal Wootton Bassett


The mayor has requested 2 volunteers to arrive a little before 7pm to sell raffle tickets to guests as they arrive and then to tear and fold the tickets and pop them in a bucket to be drawn later in the evening.

When: Friday 31st March 20177pm-9pm

Breast Cancer NOW

Every year we need up to 100 volunteers to make our event a success; we just can’t run without their support.

Offering 10km and 5km distances, Mad March Hare is the number one event of its kind in the region and we welcome walkers, joggers and runners of all ages and abilities; we also welcome along happy dogs and their handlers. 100% of the proceeds from entry fees from this year’s event will go to our nominated charity Breast Cancer Now.

With hundreds of walkers and runners, dog walkers and babies in buggies we need many hands to keep everyone on their feet and going in the right direction.
You could help us at do marshalling along the route, car parking, handing out goody bags, helping in the cafe.

We’re also looking for people to volunteer on the Organising Team. The organising team have a range of responsibilities, managing the event, coordinating volunteers and our merchandise also running our team meetings and accounts.
