North Swindon football club fundraising for new teams

FC Abbeymeads is calling on the support of local people to help expand and equip their newly formed teams.

FC Abbeymeads

The club was formed in 2003 with just one team, which is now increasing to nine over the 2016/17 season. These include under 7s teams, under 18s teams and young adult teams.

Training equipment, match equipment, kit, and volunteers’ training courses are expensive commodities. With 9 new teams, kit alone will cost £4,300. Add training equipment, balls, first aid kits etc this adds a further £1,000 and training courses on top makes the total target of the club £7,500.

The children and volunteers have been busy fundraising for several months, but the club is still £5,000 short of their target. Reaching the target means a lot to the young players as it allows them to enjoy sports and raise their confidence.

Volunteers are busy arranging for the new season which is confirmed now to start on Sunday, 4 September. Hopefully, there will be enough funding by then to be able to purchase the equipment needed to keep this level of teams running and giving local children regular sporting opportunities.

To donate, visit their campaign on WASP and help the children stay fit, healthy and looking great.
