Iron Man wanted following Haydonleigh Primary School incident

North Swindon Police are appealing for help in finding an unusual suspect following a suspicious incident at Haydonleigh Primary School.

Year 3 and 4 pupils have been giving statements and helping officers search for evidence after hearing strange clanging noises in a hall, and finding a ceiling damaged and large amounts of cans, batteries and car parts scattered about.

The children believe the culprit is an enormous male the size of a house, who is made of metal, has headlamps for eyes and only one ear – who goes by the name of Iron Man. We are reliably informed he has a previous criminal history as he is known to bite cars in half.

Have you seen this man? Any reports of damaged vehicles or lamp posts should be reported to Key Stage 2 at Haydonleigh Primary who are leading the investigation.

PCSO Lee Hare, who has been at the crime scene today, said: “We have been impressed with the detailed accounts the children have given us, and their excellent observational skills. With their vital evidence we hope to apprehend the Iron Man quickly.

“We would also like to reassure the public that the Iron Man poses no threat the to the people of North Swindon, and parents who are receiving updates from students should remain calm.”

Please note: This is not a real police appeal. It is a story to highlight the work of North Swindon Police within local schools.
