Friday night was a big night for sisters Kate and Tammy Ellis, as they held an auction to raise money for two local groups.
“Altogether with help from members of our organisations and families, we have raised a total of £1310, which will be divided equally between Wiltshire Roller Derby and A Support Group for Parents (Swindon Autism, ADHD),” says Tammy.
Kate explained that they “are raising money to put on a Christmas party for children with Autism and ADHD and have required equipment to do so.”
The other organisation being supported by this event was Wiltshire Roller Derby, of which Kate is a founding member. “We’re like a family on skates.
“We’re raising money to keep the league up and running and try to promote awareness of the sport.”
Both sisters consider the evening a great success.
Tammy said: “We are so proud of both of our teams, who came together to help us host an amazing evening, raising a fantastic amount, as well as awareness for both organisations.”
